About Us
Komik is a film and TV production company founded by writer-director Mikko Myllylahti in 2023 with a mission to bring high artistic quality to Finnish television and cinema. In its first years of operation Komik Productions will focus on the development of TV series concepts led by Myllylahti. In the coming years, the intention is to expand to include TV concepts by other talented writers.

We want to focus on scriptwriting: to give writers time and space to work, because we believe that only by investing in scriptwriting can we produce international quality with limited resources. Mikko Myllylahti has a solid experience as a screenwriter and director and since graduating with a Master of Arts in 2012 from Finland's leading film school (Aalto Uni/ELO) he has also participated in high-profile screenwriting workshops such as Cannes L'Atelier, Semaine de la Critique Next Step, Berlinale Script Station, Torino Film Lab, Toronto Filmmakers' Lab and SeriesMania Seriesmakers.
Mikko's credits as a screenwriter include two feature films that both had their premiere and won a prize in Cannes Film Festival, The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki, 2016 and The Woodcutter Story, 2022, which is also his debut feature as a film director. He has been working as a freelance film and television writer/director both internationally and in Finland. Extensive networks and years of honed experience in European quality drama and its development processes are at the heart of Komik Productions.
